At the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Geneva, Morocco reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to upholding universal values and human rights. This commitment extends to promoting women's economic empowerment, establishing universal social protection, accelerating the transition to a green economy, and consolidating the values of peace, tolerance, and coexistence.

During his address, Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi emphasized that Morocco's commitment to promoting human rights transcends constitutional guarantees, becoming a cornerstone of public policymaking. This vision is evident in the ongoing construction of the social welfare state initiated by King Mohammed VI. The overarching goal is to afford all citizens protection against social risks such as illness and unemployment while ensuring equitable access to healthcare.

The nation has also introduced a direct social assistance program, signifying a significant shift in social reform. This initiative aims to benefit all underprivileged groups in society, elevating living standards and combating poverty and precarity, thereby solidifying human rights.

Furthermore, Morocco is in the process of reforming the family code to reinforce citizens' rights and freedoms, with a focus on placing equity and justice at the forefront of its concerns. This reform holds the promise of enhancing women's economic rights within society. Minister Ouahbi expressed this sentiment in an interview with Al Oula TV, stating, "The initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to refine the family code...has portrayed Morocco's positive progress in aligning its legislation with societal developments."

In Geneva, on the 75th anniversary of the declaration, Morocco, alongside Paraguay and Portugal, expressed its commitment to establishing an international network for the implementation, reporting, and monitoring of national mechanisms. This collaborative effort underscores Morocco's dedication to advancing human rights on a global scale.
