Aciturri's Strategic Move: Expanding Horizons in Morocco to Tap into the Growing Aerospace Market
Aciturri Group, a prominent Spanish aerospace supplier, is making significant strides by establishing its presence in Morocco, a move that industry experts view as a testament to the confidence in the Kingdom's burgeoning aerospace sector.
During a ceremony held this week in Casablanca, Aciturri finalized an agreement with Midparc, a leading Moroccan industrial development company, to inaugurate a new manufacturing facility in the North African nation. This factory will specialize in producing aircraft engine components, capitalizing on Morocco's advantageous geographical position and skilled workforce to enhance Aciturri's global competitiveness.
Gines Clemente, CEO of the aeronautical group, emphasized the strategic importance of Morocco, stating, "Morocco is a crucial location for our expansion, and this investment will propel Aciturri's global growth." Notably, Aciturri has already expanded the operations of its recently-acquired subsidiary, GOAM Industrie, generating 100 local job opportunities since 2023, with plans to create an additional 50 jobs in 2024.
The initiative prioritizes technology transfer and workforce development, aligning with the overarching goal of bolstering Morocco's national aeronautical industry by fostering the development of the engine parts ecosystem, as highlighted by Industry Minister Ryad Mezzour.
Hamid Benbrahim El Andaloussi, Chairman of Midparc, expressed satisfaction with Aciturri's vote of confidence in Morocco's industrial capabilities, stating, "This agreement underscores the resilience of our sector and will bolster Moroccan integration into global aerospace supply chains."
Industry analysts interpret this deal as a testament to Aciturri's recognition of the Kingdom's strategic location and skilled workforce, positioning Morocco as a pivotal hub for serving rapidly expanding international markets. With ambitious plans to scale up its aerospace sector tenfold, Morocco is swiftly emerging as a key player in supplying the global aerospace industry. Aciturri's foray into the country marks the beginning of potentially numerous strategic moves in the future.
