The sequel to the 2005 drama film "Lord of War" is set to be filmed in Morocco, featuring Academy Award-winner Nicolas Cage, according to Karim Debbagh, production manager and Moroccan line producer. The production, titled "Lords of War," is scheduled to commence filming in March and will span a forty-day period.

Karim Debbagh shared with Variety during the Marrakech International Film Festival intermission that he is currently exploring potential filming locations across Morocco for the cast and crew.

"We are considering four or five African countries, such as Senegal, Mali, Libya, and Egypt, along with several Middle Eastern countries, but Morocco has proven to offer nearly everything we need," Debbagh informed the American publication.

He elaborated on the diverse landscapes in Morocco, stating, "There are regions in Morocco that resemble Senegal, and others that are as opulent as a neighborhood in California. If you're seeking locations reminiscent of Libya, Yemen, or Syria, you can find them in and around Marrakech."

"Lords of War" is expected to bring together a team of 400 to 500 personnel, including 100 individuals from the United States and the United Kingdom. The remaining crew members will consist of highly skilled Moroccan nationals, as confirmed by Debbagh.

In addition to "Lords of War," Debbagh's film production company, Kasbah Films, anticipates filming the first season of the British series "Atomic" in Morocco by May.

"Lord of War" recounts the story of Yuri, an American arms merchant who jeopardizes his life and the lives of his family to complete an arms transaction with an African warlord. The sequel is poised to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative and diverse, visually striking locations in Morocco.
