TGCC-SGTM consortium awarded key contract for Hassan II stadium construction
The TGCC-SGTM consortium has officially been granted the contract for Lot 2 of the Hassan II Stadium project in Benslimane, anticipated to become one of the largest stadiums worldwide.
As expected, the consortium, the sole bidder, received the notification for this major contract on Monday, June 16. Lot 2 represents the core phase of the stadium’s construction in Mansouria, Benslimane province. The scope includes structural work, waterproofing, metal framework, surface finishes, false ceilings, as well as carpentry and painting services.
This new stadium aims to be among the world’s largest and is a strong candidate to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup final, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
The project officially started in April 2025 and is divided into several lots. Lot 1, focusing on earthworks, was awarded to SGTM for 356 million dirhams and is nearing completion. Lot 2 is planned for a 30-month execution period, with delivery expected by December 2027.
Project supervision is managed by a team of experts, including Tarik Oualalou, the Populous firm, Maffeis Engineering, Socotec Maroc for technical control, and LPEE for laboratory testing.
