The announcement comes as European Union leaders prepare for a summit on defense and Ukraine, set for Thursday. In a recent move, U.S. President Donald Trump paused military aid to Kyiv, signaling a shift in U.S. policy toward a more conciliatory approach with Russia. In response, France is working to rebuild ties between the U.S. and Ukraine, with the goal of securing a "lasting and robust peace," according to government spokesperson Sophie Primas.
