Threats of mass murder lead to school closures in four Valencian towns

Several schools in four Valencian municipalities—Chiva, Yátova, Siete Aguas, and Buñol—suspended classes on Thursday after receiving emails containing threats of mass murder. The emails, sent by an individual claiming to represent the terrorist group "764," warned that the sender intended to kill as many people as possible. Authorities have arrested the suspect, who is alleged to have a fixation on causing harm to minors.

The emails were reportedly sent to the schools by a man claiming to be part of a pedophile terrorist group. The messages threatened attacks on the schools using weapons and explosives. Following the threat, various units of the Civil Guard were deployed to the schools as a preventive measure.

In response to the threats, local authorities decided to close the schools. The municipality of Chiva announced the closure on social media, stating that the decision was made on the mayor's orders and in line with security force recommendations. Yátova followed suit, suspending classes after receiving the threat and citing concerns for the safety of students and staff. Siete Aguas and Buñol also suspended classes in their schools.

The Civil Guard has initiated an investigation to locate the individual behind the threat. Reports suggest that the suspect, identified as H. F. P., resides in the town of Turís. The emails included threats to attack schools in the area, with the sender claiming to have planted bombs and weapons in the institutions.
