Hollywood's Longest Love Story Ends: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Finalize Divorce After Eight-Year Process

A significant chapter in Hollywood history concluded on Monday as acclaimed actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt officially finalized their divorce settlement, marking the end of an eight-year legal journey that captivated the entertainment world.

The former couple, who tied the knot in 2014 and share six children, embarked on their separate paths when Jolie initiated divorce proceedings in 2026, citing irreconcilable differences. The high-profile separation, which garnered extensive media attention, reached its resolution with Pitt's signature on the divorce papers this week.

James Simon, Jolie's legal representative, provided insight into the prolonged process: "This is part of a long, ongoing process that started eight years ago. More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family." Simon added that while Jolie feels exhausted by the process, she expresses relief at completing this particular phase.

The extended duration of their divorce proceedings stemmed from multiple complex factors, including a challenging custody battle and a significant dispute aboard a private jet in 2016. Additionally, legal tensions escalated over Jolie's decision to sell her portion of Château Miraval, the French winery where the couple celebrated their wedding and maintained joint ownership.

This settlement marks the conclusion of a relationship that once defined Hollywood's elite, transforming from a celebrated union that earned the portmanteau "Brangelina" to one of the industry's most closely watched separations.
