In a remarkable display of growth and resilience, the National Office of Airports (ONDA) has reported a staggering 23% increase in passenger traffic at the Agadir-Al Massira Airport during the first three months of the current year, compared to the same period in 2023.

According to an official statement released by the Office, this bustling aviation hub welcomed an impressive 697,341 passengers by the end of March 2024, a significant jump from the 567,747 travelers recorded during the corresponding period last year.

The month of March alone witnessed a remarkable 22% surge in air traffic at the airport, with 247,137 passengers passing through its gates, marking a substantial increase from the 202,254 travelers recorded during the same period in 2023.

This impressive performance at the Agadir-Al Massira Airport is part of a broader trend observed across Morocco's aviation sector. Collectively, the nation's airports recorded a commercial traffic volume of 6,873,487 passengers by the end of March 2024, reflecting a remarkable 14% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Furthermore, the number of flights handled by Moroccan airports reached 51,282 movements during the first three months of the year, representing an 11% growth when compared to the end of March 2023.

The surge in passenger traffic at the Agadir-Al Massira Airport can be attributed to a combination of factors, including the region's allure as a premier tourist destination, the airport's strategic location, and the industry's concerted efforts to enhance connectivity and service quality.

As the aviation sector continues to recover from the challenges posed by the global pandemic, this remarkable performance serves as a testament to the resilience of the industry and the unwavering confidence of travelers in Morocco's air travel infrastructure.

With the summer season on the horizon, industry experts anticipate sustained growth in passenger numbers, further solidifying the Agadir-Al Massira Airport's position as a vital gateway to the region's natural wonders and cultural treasures.
