Diddy Combs Faces New Civil Suit: Allegations of Rape and a Troubling Pattern of Behavior

Music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs is facing yet another civil lawsuit, this time alleging rape against a college student in 2004. The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, paints a disturbing picture of Combs' alleged actions and raises questions about his behavior towards women.

The complaint, filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, details allegations of sexual assault and rape against a 19-year-old Brooklyn college student in a Manhattan hotel room. This incident, dating back two decades, has prompted the victim to seek justice under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which provides a two-year window for older claims.

In an interview with NBC News, Buzbee emphasized the credibility and legitimacy of the cases they are pursuing. He stated, "We're going to just try to file cases that we feel are credible and legitimate." The accuser, whose name has been withheld, is seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit.

This latest development comes as Combs battles pre-trial detention on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges. While the specific allegations in the civil suit are distinct, the court documents reveal a disturbing pattern of drug-fueled parties and violence, mirroring the details outlined in his criminal indictment.

The lawsuit follows a series of legal actions against Combs, including a federal lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, last year. Ventura accused Combs of physical and sexual abuse, and the two parties reached a settlement the following day. However, a surveillance video published by CNN in May 2024 showed Combs beating Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, leading to public scrutiny and Combs' apology.

Combs' legal team has responded to the recent allegations, denying all civil and criminal claims and describing the accusations as "sickening" attempts for a "quick payday." They have also filed a petition claiming that the government leaked information to the media, including the video of the incident involving Ventura. Prosecutors, however, deny these accusations, and the judge overseeing the case is considering imposing a reciprocal gag order to prevent media engagement by both sides.

Since Ventura's lawsuit, several individuals have come forward with their own legal actions against Combs. Dawn Richard, a former member of the girl group Danity Kane, alleged that Combs groped, assaulted, and threatened her life. These lawsuits highlight a growing concern about Combs' alleged behavior and the need for justice for the victims.

As the legal battles unfold, Combs remains in pre-trial detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Federal prosecutors are currently reviewing data from over 90 devices seized from Combs' properties during raids earlier this year and at the time of his arrest in New York.
