Billionaire Elon Musk has significantly raised his financial incentive for registered voters in swing states to support a conservative petition. In a recent announcement on X, Musk revealed that his pro-Trump super PAC would now offer $100 to individuals who sign the petition and those who refer them.

This decision follows Musk's promotion of a discredited voter fraud theory during a pro-Trump town hall in Pennsylvania. He stated that the deadline for signing the petition is Monday night, coinciding with the closure of voter registration in Pennsylvania. "If you’re a registered Pennsylvania voter, you & whoever referred you will now get $100 for signing our petition in support of free speech & right to bear arms," Musk communicated through his social media platform.

Initially launched in early October, the petition aims to uphold the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. Musk's America PAC has committed to mailing checks to voter addresses on file in Pennsylvania for both signers and referrers of the petition. This strategy appears to comply with campaign finance laws, as payments are made for signing the petition rather than for voter registration itself.

Musk has been vocal in urging Pennsylvania's swing state voters to support former President Donald Trump, asserting that the upcoming election will determine "the fate of America" and "the fate of Western civilization." His recent actions mark a notable shift from his previous stance of remaining apolitical; since acquiring X, he has openly endorsed Trump and increased his support for the candidate.

In addition to his financial incentives, Musk participated in a campaign rally alongside Trump in Pennsylvania and plans to host additional town halls leading up to Monday's deadline. With over 200 million followers on X, Musk has frequently disseminated controversial claims regarding various issues, including immigration and voting integrity.

Musk's America PAC has also invested in advertising on platforms like Facebook and Instagram to encourage voter registration in swing states. Although some of these efforts have sparked controversy, particularly regarding misleading voter registration practices, Michigan election officials have not found evidence of violations related to state campaign finance laws.

As Musk continues to engage with voters through financial incentives and public appearances, his influence on the electoral landscape remains a topic of considerable discussion.
