Moroccan institutions, the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) and the National Office of Railways (ONCF), have cemented a strategic alliance aimed at propelling the nation's economic development through sustainable initiatives. Directors Khalid Safir and Mohamed Rabie Khlie have formalized this agreement, outlining a comprehensive framework for collaboration across multiple sectors.

At the core of this pivotal accord, CDG and ONCF will synergize efforts on projects spanning financial advisory and structuring, territorial planning, real estate management, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. This multifaceted partnership seamlessly aligns with ONCF's overarching strategy to champion sustainable and accessible mobility solutions, directly addressing the Kingdom's strategic, economic, and environmental challenges.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone following ONCF's transformative journey over the past two decades, positioning the organization to meet future demands with innovative solutions. Simultaneously, CDG's participation underscores its steadfast commitment to supporting national strategic projects with profound economic and social implications.

Leveraging its technical and financial expertise across various subsidiaries, CDG aims to offer comprehensive, sustainable support to its partners, facilitating the structuring of development projects and securing necessary financing. This synergistic approach promises to catalyze Morocco's economic growth while prioritizing sustainability and environmental stewardship.

In recent months, ONCF has unveiled ambitious investments to enhance railway connectivity nationwide. In November 2023, the office committed a staggering MAD 16 billion ($1.56 billion) investment as part of its comprehensive "development plan." This initiative encompasses the acquisition of 168 new trains, including 150 urban transport services, featuring high-speed commuter and intercity trains.

The strategic partnership between ONCF and CDG arrives at a crucial juncture for Morocco, especially as the nation prepares to co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. This collaboration underscores the Kingdom's dedication to sustainable development, positioning it as a global leader in innovative infrastructure and mobility solutions.
