China Launches Antitrust Probe into Nvidia Amid Tech Rivalry
China's Administration for Market Regulation has initiated an antitrust investigation into Nvidia, the world's top AI processor provider, amid the escalating U.S.-China technological competition in the AI sector, which both countries consider crucial for national security, according to Chinese state media reports.
The investigation centers on Nvidia's 2020 acquisition of Israeli networking company Mellanox, with Chinese authorities questioning whether the purchase potentially violates China's anti-monopoly regulations.
