Hakimi provides positive update after injury scare

Moroccan international and Paris Saint-Germain right-back, Achraf Hakimi, has reassured fans about his health following an ankle injury, signaling his determination to return to the field quickly.

Hakimi sustained a sprained ankle after a harsh tackle from Luis Díaz during the PSG vs Bayern Munich match (1-2). On his Instagram account, he shared photos and videos of himself training indoors while wearing a brace on his left ankle.

The Moroccan defender, praised for his outstanding performances both at club and international level, aims to be ready for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will take place in Morocco in the coming days.

Hakimi is also shortlisted for the African Player of the Year award according to the 2025 CAF Awards, recognizing the best players, coaches, clubs, and national teams on the continent. Additionally, he is nominated for the 2025 FIFA “The Best” Football Award, which honors the world’s top football talents annually.

A Real Madrid youth product, Hakimi has enjoyed an exceptional season with PSG, highlighted by a French league title and a Champions League victory, cementing his status as one of football’s brightest stars.
