Morocco’s Women’s Football Team Remains Among Africa’s Top 3 in FIFA Rankings
Morocco’s women’s national football team continues to shine on the international stage, securing its position among Africa’s top three teams in the latest FIFA rankings released on Friday. The Atlas Lionesses hold the 61st spot globally with 1,426.02 points, maintaining their strong performance despite a slight drop from 59th in the previous ranking published on August 16.
Africa’s football landscape is led by Nigeria, which holds the 36th position globally, followed by South Africa in 53rd place after a three-spot drop. Morocco, however, remains firmly in third place on the continent, showcasing the country’s growing strength in women’s football.
On the global stage, the United States leads the rankings, with Spain climbing to second place, overtaking former runner-up England, which now occupies fourth. Germany holds steady in third place, solidifying its position as a powerhouse in the sport.
FIFA has confirmed that the next women’s world ranking will be released on March 6, 2025.
