Engineering firm opens in Oujda, boosting local employment

An engineering and consulting firm, a subsidiary of the SII Group, has established operations in the technopole of Oujda, a project expected to create 500 direct jobs.

The inauguration of this initiative marks a pivotal moment in the technological advancement of the Oriental region. The event was held on Tuesday, coinciding with the 22nd anniversary of the Royal Initiative for the Development of the Oriental Region, and attended by the Wali of the Oriental region, the president of the regional council, the Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade.

The event also gathered leaders and collaborators from the SII Group, stakeholders from the technology and entrepreneurial sectors, and other notable figures.

This establishment aligns with the territorial development vision of the Oriental region, which focuses on accelerated digitization, upskilling local talent, and creating a regulatory framework that encourages investment.

The SII Group is a globally recognized player in engineering consultancy and digital services across industries such as energy, automotive, and telecommunications. Its decision to officially launch its presence at Oujda Shore underscores the growing confidence of international actors in the economic and technological potential of the region.

With a presence in 21 countries and a workforce of 18,000, SII plays a crucial role in the digital transformation of businesses by offering innovative solutions tailored to current technological challenges, according to a project briefing.

The SII Oujda Shore facility, spanning 500 square meters, is designed as a cutting-edge technological space aimed at enhancing the skills of local talent. The project is expected to contribute significantly to invigorating the job market in the region.

SII's establishment in Oujda is supported by enhanced institutional backing, ensuring administrative and regulatory assistance to facilitate the setup and initiation of operations. It also includes tailored fiscal and financial incentives, in line with the New Investment Charter.

Furthermore, partnerships with educational institutions are being established to ensure access to a highly skilled workforce that meets market demands.

With an attractive environment, modern infrastructure, and incentives promoting investment, the Oriental region is emerging as a hub for innovation and development for tomorrow's technology companies.
