ONMT showcases Casablanca-Settat as a premier travel destination at Arabian Travel Market
The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is actively promoting Morocco’s diverse tourism offerings, with a particular focus on the Casablanca-Settat region, at the ongoing Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. This prestigious event, which attracts over 2,800 exhibitors and 55,000 participants from more than 160 countries, serves as a vital platform for enhancing Morocco's visibility in the global tourism landscape.
In a recent statement, the ONMT emphasized its commitment to positioning Morocco as a premier travel destination, particularly in light of the growing interest from Saudi Arabian tourists. The statistics speak volumes: Saudi Arabia has emerged as the leading source of visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with a notable 13% increase in arrivals compared to the previous year.
This strategic engagement at the Arabian Travel Market is part of ONMT's broader initiative to foster partnerships with key Saudi operators, including Almosafer, Fursan, and Flying.com. Furthermore, the organization is keen on strengthening ties with global travel platforms such as Wego and Cleartrip to enhance its market presence in regions like India and Southeast Asia.
A significant highlight of the event is a collaboration agreement signed between ONMT and Emirates airline, aimed at bolstering air connectivity between Morocco and rapidly growing Asian markets, including Japan, South Korea, India, and Australia. The strategic location of Dubai, a central hub in global air transport networks, facilitates this initiative, enhancing accessibility and attracting more visitors.
ONMT’s efforts are not limited to the Gulf region. The office has launched a series of promotional initiatives aimed at drawing tourists from various international markets. With an ambitious goal of welcoming at least 26 million visitors by 2030, Morocco is poised for a robust recovery in tourism, having already surpassed its target of 17 million tourists last year.
As the Arabian Travel Market unfolds, ONMT's drive to showcase Morocco as a top travel destination reflects a dedicated effort to revitalize the tourism sector and secure the nation’s place on the global stage.
