CAF and AGL Transportation partner for major tournaments in Morocco
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has formalized a partnership with Africa Global Logistics (AGL) to facilitate transportation services during two significant sporting events. This collaboration positions AGL as the official logistics partner for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, both scheduled to take place in Morocco.
In an official statement shared on X, CAF emphasized that this partnership transcends mere sporting events. “This partnership reflects a shared vision: making football a catalyst for sustainable development across the continent,” the statement asserted.
As Morocco gears up for these prestigious tournaments, the country is making substantial investments to ensure the events meet international standards. Currently, over 120 construction and renovation projects are underway across six host cities, reflecting Morocco's commitment to a seamless organization of the tournaments.
Infrastructure enhancements for a successful event
To support these efforts, the Moroccan government is revitalizing infrastructure, including road improvements, enhanced access routes, updated signage, public lighting, pedestrian zones, and the creation of green spaces in host cities.
CAF recently unveiled the match schedule for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on January 31. This edition of the tournament promises to be the largest yet, featuring matches in nine stadiums across six cities. The competition will commence with Morocco facing Comoros in Group A on December 21, 2025, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, which boasts a capacity of 69,500 spectators—an ideal venue for the much-anticipated kickoff.
Rabat will serve as the primary host city, featuring four stadiums, while other matches will occur in Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier, each with its designated stadiums for the games. Quarter-final matches are set to take place in Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir, with the semi-finals held in Rabat and Tangier. The third-place match will occur at Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
The tournament is structured to showcase 52 matches over a span of 29 days, promising an exciting football festival that highlights the skill and passion inherent in African football.
In parallel, Morocco will also host the 13th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations from July 5-26, 2025. South Africa, the defending champion, clinched the title on Moroccan soil in 2022, adding further intrigue to the upcoming competition.
