Strengthening Morocco-Africa relations: Cooperation agreements with AUDA-NEPAD
On Thursday, Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, met in Rabat with Nardos Bekele-Thomas, CEO of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). During this visit, the two leaders signed two key agreements aimed at boosting collaboration between Morocco and AUDA-NEPAD.
The first agreement outlines the establishment of a National Office for AUDA-NEPAD in Morocco, while the second agreement focuses on promoting joint development projects of mutual interest.
In her remarks to the press, Bekele-Thomas commended Morocco's dedication to African integration under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. She highlighted Morocco’s ongoing support for the Agency’s initiatives, underscoring that the agreements reflect the Kingdom's commitment to the African Union and the AUDA-NEPAD.
She also pointed out that the Framework Cooperation Agreement demonstrates Morocco’s active role in supporting Africa’s development, emphasizing that AUDA-NEPAD will collaborate closely with Morocco to advance the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
