Israel announced it will permit the entry of limited food supplies into Gaza following a military recommendation, aiming to prevent a hunger crisis amid ongoing conflict. This decision came shortly after the Israeli military launched "extensive ground operations" across northern and southern Gaza, escalating the campaign against Hamas.

The move follows growing international pressure, including from the United States, urging Israel to ease its strict blockade on Gaza, which has been in place for over two months. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that while food aid will be allowed, Israel will act to stop Hamas from taking control of the humanitarian supplies.

Heavy airstrikes were reported in Khan Yunis and nearby areas, resulting in multiple casualties, including entire families. Since the blockade began in March, UN agencies have warned of severe shortages of essential resources like food, water, fuel, and medicine. The humanitarian situation remains critical, with many children and families suffering from starvation.

Amid indirect negotiations mediated in Qatar, Israel insists on the complete defeat of Hamas before peace, demanding the release of all hostages, disarmament of Gaza, and exile of Hamas militants. Hamas, however, proposes a full release of Israeli hostages only if a lasting ceasefire is agreed upon. The conflict continues to claim thousands of lives, with devastating impacts on civilians in Gaza.
