His Majesty King Mohammed VI has called for the urgent revival of negotiations aimed at establishing an immediate ceasefire in response to the ongoing hostilities initiated by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Gaza and the West Bank.

In a compelling speech delivered at the 34th Summit of the Arab League in Baghdad, Iraq, the monarch emphasized the necessity for immediate intervention to halt the "Israeli military aggressions" particularly the demolition of homes and the forced displacement of unarmed civilian populations within areas under Israeli security control.

Representing the monarch at the summit, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita joined Arab leaders and officials to address the pressing challenges facing the region.

The King further advocated for the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance, specifically medical supplies and food, highlighting the critical support needed for United Nations bodies like UNRWA to fulfill their mandates effectively.

In his address, HM King Mohammed VI also underscored the importance of developing a comprehensive roadmap for reconstruction, insisting that the plan must proceed without questioning the status of displaced populations.

He reaffirmed the need for a political solution that paves the way for a just and lasting peace in the region, ensuring the Palestinian people's legitimate rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, thereby integrating Gaza as a vital part of its territory.

Moreover, the King highlighted the significance of national reconciliation as a cornerstone for strengthening the Palestinian position, reiterating his steadfast commitment to defending sacred sites, including Al Quds.

This urgent appeal from the monarch comes at a time when Israeli forces continue their aggressive campaigns against Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank. Reports indicate an alarming escalation in violence, with approximately 150 fatalities reported over a recent 24-hour period. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the death toll has reached 53,272, with over 120,673 individuals injured since October 2023. Notably, the majority of victims are women and children, and many fatalities may remain unaccounted for, buried beneath the rubble.
