Yassine Bounou has established himself as one of the most influential goalkeepers of his generation, playing a central role in Morocco’s rise on the global football stage and earning recognition across Europe and the Middle East.
Born in Montreal in 1991 and raised in Morocco, Bounou developed his early football skills at Wydad Casablanca’s youth academy before beginning a professional journey that would take him to some of the most competitive leagues in the world.
His breakthrough came in Spain, where he spent more than a decade building his reputation. After early spells with Atlético Madrid and Girona, he joined Sevilla FC in 2019.
