Western nations face 30 days for diplomatic solution, says Kaja Kallas
The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, warned on Friday that Western nations now have 30 days to reach a diplomatic solution regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of EU defense ministers in Copenhagen, Kallas underlined the urgency of the situation: “We are entering a new 30-day phase that we must really use to find diplomatic solutions.”
Her remarks came a day after European powers activated the mechanism that could restore international sanctions against Iran within a month. The request is set to be reviewed by the United Nations Security Council on Friday.
The move reflects growing tensions between Tehran and the West over nuclear activities, as European leaders stress the need to avoid escalation while keeping open the door to dialogue.
