War in Ukraine: Three dead, Including rescuer, After Russian strikes
Russian missile strikes on Ukraine overnight from Friday to Saturday killed three people, including a rescuer, according to Ukrainian authorities.
“A rescuer was killed and another injured following a repeated missile attack on the Petropavlivska community in the Dnipropetrovsk region,” the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on social media.
In the same region, a woman was also killed and seven people wounded, while fire trucks, residential buildings, and shops were damaged.
The capital Kyiv was also targeted, leaving one person dead and ten others injured, according to Timur Tkachenko, head of the city’s military administration. Around 4 a.m., AFP journalists reported hearing missile sounds followed by loud explosions. Emergency services later shared images showing firefighters battling flames after major fires broke out in two districts of the capital.
According to Ukraine’s air force, Russia launched nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 64 attack drones, of which 50 drones and four missiles were intercepted.
