VPS partners with American Express to boost online payments in Morocco

Vantage Payment Systems (VPS), a licensed payment institution accredited by Bank Al-Maghrib, has announced a strategic partnership with American Express to strengthen digital payment services in Morocco. This collaboration marks the first time American Express cards will be accepted for e-commerce transactions in the country.

According to VPS, this milestone aims to enhance Morocco's position as a regional digital hub, making online commerce more accessible and attractive for both consumers and businesses.

“This is a turning point for Morocco’s digital economy,” VPS stated. “It opens new opportunities for sectors like tourism, luxury hospitality, and high-end retail, which can now better serve international clients.”

Thanks to this agreement, American Express cardholders can now make online purchases from Moroccan merchants with the same ease they experience abroad. This positions Moroccan e-merchants to attract a premium international clientele known for their high purchasing power and demand for quality service.

Dr. Mustapha Badr Ezzaman expressed satisfaction with this development, noting that Moroccan online merchants will benefit significantly from broader payment acceptance. VPS operates the payment platform payzone.ma, which will facilitate these transactions.
