Villeurbanne: driver fined despite faded road markings wins refund

In Villeurbanne, near Lyon, a woman has successfully challenged a €32 parking fine issued in April 2024. The Tribunal for Paid Parking Disputes ruled in her favor, noting that the road markings indicating paid parking were no longer visible.

The driver, from the Isère department, argued that nothing showed the parking zone on the odd-numbered side of Rue Dedieu was subject to fees. After months of administrative procedure, the city of Villeurbanne confirmed that the court ordered the reimbursement of the fine, acknowledging that the lack of ground markings misled the motorist.
