The US Supreme Court has reaffirmed the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship, ruling that children born on American soil are entitled to US citizenship regardless of the immigration status of their parents. The decision rejects an executive order issued by President Donald Trump that sought to limit automatic citizenship for certain children born in the United States.
