US aerospace exports to Morocco surpass $1 billion in first seven months of 2026
Trade in aerospace products between Morocco and the United States has expanded significantly in 2026, with US exports in the aerospace category exceeding $1 billion during the first seven months of the year. The increase highlights the growing industrial and technological links between the two countries.
According to the latest US foreign trade data, American exports classified under the aerospace category reached approximately $1.006 billion between January and July 2026, compared with around $743 million during the same period a year earlier. The increase amounts to roughly $263 million, representing growth of more than 35%.
The pace of trade accelerated in July, when US aerospace exports to Morocco reached about $148 million, up from approximately $118 million in June. This represents a monthly increase of around 25%.
Trade also increased in the opposite direction. US imports of Moroccan aerospace products stood at approximately $28 million in July, compared with $17 million in June, indicating a growing presence of Moroccan-made products linked to the aerospace industry in the American market.
However, the $1 billion figure should not be interpreted as the value of complete aircraft purchased by Morocco. US trade statistics use a broader classification for advanced technology products, with aerospace covering a wide range of goods and equipment rather than aircraft alone.
The category includes new civilian and military aircraft, helicopters, spacecraft, aircraft engines, flight simulators, autopilot systems and other equipment associated with the aerospace industry. Certain space-related products, such as communications satellites, are classified separately under information and communications technology.
Over the first seven months of 2026, US imports of aerospace products from Morocco reached approximately $124 million, compared with $102 million during the same period in 2025. This represents an increase of about $22 million, or roughly 21.6%.
The figures point to Morocco’s expanding role in global aerospace value chains. Over the past years, the country has sought to develop a specialized industrial base capable of producing aircraft components and supplying international manufacturers.
The growth in bilateral trade also reflects the increasingly integrated nature of the aerospace industry. Commercial exchanges between Morocco and the United States involve not only finished products but also components, equipment and advanced technologies that form part of international manufacturing and supply networks.
For Morocco, the expansion of aerospace trade is particularly significant as the country seeks to attract higher-value industrial investment, develop advanced manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its position as a production platform serving international markets, including Europe and North America.
The latest figures therefore point to stronger two-way aerospace trade between Rabat and Washington in 2026. While American exports to Morocco have crossed the $1 billion threshold for the January-July period, Moroccan aerospace exports to the US market have also continued to grow, underlining the increasingly important role of the sector in bilateral economic relations.
