Unmuted Morocco: a celebration of resilience and solidarity through photography

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Morocco is set to unveil "Unmuted Morocco: What We Owe One Another," a photography exhibition that delves into themes of solidarity, coexistence, and the shared values that unite Moroccans. The event will open on Saturday, November 22, at 6 p.m., at the foundation's office in Rabat's Hassan district.

This exhibition seeks to transform photography into a medium for civic dialogue. Featuring the work of ten photographers from across Morocco, the showcased images capture the faces, places, and gestures that define daily life and collective belonging. Each photograph is a personal interpretation of Morocco’s rich social fabric, where diversity, dignity, and dialogue intersect.

Organizers emphasize the power of photography as a tool for exchange, describing the exhibition as an opportunity to "give a voice to images." The works tell compelling stories of youth, resilience, and solidarity, while shedding light on the oft-overlooked narratives shaping contemporary Moroccan society. Visitors are encouraged to experience Morocco not through data or rhetoric, but through profound human connections and emotions.

The initiative aligns with the long-standing mission of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, which has operated in Morocco since 1969. The organization is committed to fostering civic engagement and democratic participation, promoting freedom, responsibility, and pluralism through various projects.
