United Kingdom appoints new ambassador to Morocco as relations deepen
The diplomatic relations between Morocco and the United Kingdom have taken a new step forward with the arrival of Alex Pinfield OBE as the new British Ambassador to Rabat.
On Thursday, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita officially received Mr. Pinfield, who presented the copies of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This ceremony formally marks the beginning of Mr. Pinfield’s mission in Morocco. His appointment comes at a moment when the two countries are strengthening their bilateral ties, rooted in centuries of political, economic, and cultural exchanges.
In recent years, Rabat and London have elevated their partnership through a post-Brexit association agreement, which encompasses trade, security cooperation, and mobility. The arrival of the new ambassador is expected to inject new momentum into this strategic relationship, particularly as both nations seek to diversify their international alliances.
Minister Bourita underlined Morocco’s commitment to pursuing political dialogue and broadening cooperation with the United Kingdom, stressing the shared ambition of building stronger ties and fostering mutual prosperity.
