Ukraine urges partners to protect its airspace after deadly Russian strikes

Ukraine called on its international partners to strengthen air defenses after Russian attacks killed four people and injured about twenty others overnight. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need for advanced systems, highlighting Patriot batteries, to counter ballistic missiles like the Iskander-M and hypersonic Kinjal missiles.

Overnight strikes targeted Kyiv, killing two and injuring twelve, with significant damage to warehouses and residential areas. In Dnipropetrovsk region, a rescuer was killed and another injured, alongside civilian casualties and property destruction.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the attacks hit military-industrial sites and energy infrastructure. With winter approaching, Ukraine fears increased pressure on its energy grid. Zelensky noted that over 770 ballistic missiles and 50 Kinjal missiles have been launched this year against Ukraine.
