The congressman has called for Infantino to appear before the House Judiciary Committee to answer questions about FIFA's dealings with the Trump administration and the allegations of reciprocal benefits that have fueled public debate surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The controversy comes amid broader criticism surrounding the tournament, including concerns over ticket prices, Infantino's close relationship with Trump and allegations of political influence in matters connected to the competition.
