Two dead in fire at Douar Moulay Azzouz Elmelk in Marrakech
Two people lost their lives on Monday morning after a fire broke out in five shacks in Douar Moulay Azzouz Elmelk, located in the Annakhil urban area of Marrakech, according to local authorities.
The blaze started around 5:30 a.m. and quickly spread through the makeshift homes. Civil Protection teams, alongside local and security authorities, were immediately dispatched to the scene to contain the fire and prevent further casualties.
The flames were brought under control, and the competent services have begun the process of identifying the two victims.
A judicial investigation, supervised by the public prosecutor, has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
