Türkiye condemns terror attack on passenger train in Pakistan
Türkiye has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack targeting a passenger train in Pakistan, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and reaffirming its solidarity with the Pakistani people.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry described the incident as a “heinous attack” and extended condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people of Pakistan. The ministry emphasized that violence targeting innocent civilians and destabilizing the region is unacceptable under any circumstances.
The attack occurred in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, a strategically significant and resource-rich region that has long faced security challenges. Local authorities reported that the explosion took place along a railway line as the train was heading toward a cantonment area. According to initial figures, dozens of people were killed and many others injured.
Security forces and emergency teams were deployed to the site to investigate the incident and assist survivors. The area has frequently experienced unrest linked to militant and separatist activities, raising ongoing concerns about regional stability.
Türkiye reiterated its commitment to supporting Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and stressed the importance of international cooperation to prevent such attacks in the future.
