Trump unveils groundbreaking AI initiative 'Stargate' to transform U.S. tech infrastructure

Newly inaugurated U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the launch of "Stargate," a sweeping initiative aimed at bolstering the nation’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The project, described as the largest AI infrastructure endeavor in history, will be funded by major tech players including OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, with each contributing $100 billion to kickstart the effort. An additional $500 billion is expected to be invested in the coming years, according to reports from CNN.

The initiative will focus on constructing state-of-the-art data centers and other critical facilities across the country, creating a robust physical and virtual infrastructure to support the next generation of AI development. Trump emphasized that Stargate is poised to generate 100,000 new jobs, though specific timelines for achieving this goal were not disclosed.

Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison confirmed that construction has already commenced in Texas, marking the first step in what promises to be a transformative project for the U.S. tech landscape. With its ambitious scope and significant financial backing, Stargate aims to position the United States as a global frontrunner in AI innovation, setting the stage for advancements that could reshape industries and drive economic growth.
