Transfer talks stall as Hamza Igamane's Lille move hits a snag
Negotiations between Rangers and Lille over the transfer of Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane have reached an impasse due to disagreements on the transfer fee, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
Rangers are demanding €15 million for the 22-year-old striker, a significant increase from the €2.36 million they paid AS FAR just a year ago. Despite the hold-up, Igamane has already agreed to personal terms with Lille and expressed his desire to make the move. LOSC president Olivier Létang has confirmed the club’s strong interest in securing the player’s signature.
Since joining Rangers on a five-year deal last summer, Igamane has delivered an impressive performance, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists in 46 appearances during the 2024–25 season. His contributions earned him double honours at the club’s annual awards night, further elevating his profile.
The Moroccan international’s breakout season has also captured the attention of other European clubs, including Sevilla, Marseille, and Everton, making him a coveted prospect in the transfer market. As discussions between the two clubs continue, the outcome of these negotiations could shape the next chapter in Igamane’s promising career.
