Transavia expands flights to Morocco to boost tourism in southern destinations
Morocco is strengthening its position as an international tourism destination by expanding its air connectivity with key foreign markets. The country continues to develop partnerships with airlines to facilitate access to its cities and support tourism growth across different regions.
As part of this strategy, the Moroccan National Tourism Office has strengthened its cooperation with French airline Transavia by increasing the number of direct flights between Paris-Orly Airport and Ouarzazate. The airline has added an additional weekly flight, bringing the total number of connections to three flights per week, scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
The expansion aims to meet growing demand from French travelers, one of Morocco’s most important tourism markets. Improved direct access to Ouarzazate is expected to make the city more attractive to visitors interested in its cultural heritage, historic kasbahs, unique landscapes, and reputation as a major destination for film tourism.
According to tourism authorities, the additional flights will operate during the summer schedule until October 31, 2026. Discussions are also underway with Transavia to extend the route during the winter season, ensuring a more stable flow of visitors throughout the year.
Air connectivity remains a key element of Morocco’s tourism development strategy. By increasing international links to emerging destinations, the country aims to promote more balanced tourism growth and support local economies connected to the sector.
At the same time, Transavia has expanded its services to Dakhla by operating three direct weekly flights from Paris-Orly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The southern Moroccan city has attracted increasing attention thanks to its beaches, water sports activities, and natural tourism opportunities.
These initiatives are part of a broader effort by the Moroccan National Tourism Office to improve the competitiveness of Moroccan destinations, strengthen international connections, and create new travel experiences adapted to the changing expectations of global visitors.
With improved air links and growing international interest, Morocco continues to position its southern regions as attractive destinations for travelers seeking cultural, natural, and adventure experiences.
