Tragedy in Oman: Morocco Denounces Mosque Shooting

In a shocking incident that has sent tremors across the Gulf region, a shooting near a mosque in Oman's Al Wadi Al Kabir area claimed the lives of at least six individuals and left 30 others injured. The attack, which took place on Tuesday, has been met with widespread condemnation, including a strong denouncement from Morocco.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Morocco publicly condemned the attack, emphasizing the nation's solidarity with Oman. "The Kingdom of Morocco condemns the shooting that took place near a mosque in the Al Wadi Al Kabir region, Sultanate of Oman, which resulted in several deaths and injuries," the Ministry stated on X, the social media platform.

Morocco reaffirmed its support for Oman in all efforts to ensure the security and stability of its citizens and residents. This sentiment was echoed globally, as the international community responded to the rare act of violence in the typically peaceful Gulf country.

The extremist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, further intensifying the global outcry. The incident has been labeled a heinous act, eliciting strong reactions from various international bodies and neighboring countries.

The Arab Parliament released a statement condemning the attack, describing it as reprehensible and urging for unity against such acts of violence. Similarly, Jasem Albudaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), denounced the attack as a criminal act that stands in stark contradiction to the principles of Islam and universal moral values.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) also joined in condemning the attack. In a statement, the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a criminal act aimed at undermining security and stability. The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of Oman and extended sympathies to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

As the Gulf region grapples with this tragedy, the unified voice of condemnation from nations underscores a collective stand against violence and a commitment to peace and stability.
