The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has made a significant breakthrough with its "Tifli Moukhtafi" initiative, successfully locating 124 missing children since its inception on March 10, 2023. This groundbreaking program, operational in all police districts nationwide, exemplifies the DGSN's dedication to modernizing public policing services. Notably, Mustapha Hadaoui, a service chief at the DGSN's Public Security Directorate, revealed that 90% of reported missing cases have been resolved, as reported to the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP).

The process of reporting a missing person begins with the father, mother, or legal guardian of the individual. Once a report is lodged, the missing person's information is swiftly disseminated across social media platforms within 24 hours, underscoring the urgency of time in ensuring the well-being of those reported missing. Hadaoui stressed that the search area spans approximately 160 kilometers from the point of disappearance.

While incorporating modern techniques, the DGSN also maintains traditional procedures, including broadcasting missing person alerts nationwide alongside social media notices.

The primary objective of the "Tifli Moukhtafi" initiative is to promptly relay missing person reports to all security services and enhance their dissemination via social media platforms. This strategy aims to mobilize a collective societal response in locating missing children, particularly in cases of criminal abduction. Hadaoui emphasized the initiative's proactive measures to mitigate potential harm, facilitated by the command and coordination center accessible through the 19 emergency hotline.

Under the theme "National Security: Citizenship and Solidarity," the DGSN's 5th Open Days event, ongoing until May 21, seeks to educate the public about the directorate's modernization efforts, ensuring individual safety, property protection, and maintenance of public order.
