The Royal Speech… a message of continuity and confidence in achievement

Not every Royal Speech is merely a constitutional occasion. Some define the contours of an entire era, set the direction of the State, and remind every stakeholder of their historical responsibilities. This is precisely what His Majesty King Mohammed VI's Royal Speech conveyed. It reaffirmed that Morocco has chosen the path of achievement, development, and action, and that it will remain firmly committed to this course regardless of the magnitude of crises or the complexity of challenges.

Over the past few years, the world has experienced a succession of unprecedented crises, including armed conflicts, geopolitical tensions, soaring inflation, rising energy and food prices, and an economic slowdown affecting many of the world's largest economies. Yet, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has done far more than simply withstand these challenges. The Kingdom has continued to build a coherent development model, launched strategic projects, strengthened the foundations of the social state, and reinforced its position as a rising regional power respected by partners around the world.

These accomplishments are neither accidental nor the product of favorable circumstances. They are the result of the King's forward-looking vision, which has guided Morocco's major reform agenda since His Majesty ascended the Throne. However, regardless of how clear and ambitious a vision may be, it can only succeed through institutions capable of transforming it into tangible achievements that improve citizens' daily lives.

In this context, the progress achieved in recent years is closely linked to the implementation of this Royal Vision by the government led by Mr. Aziz Akhannouch. His administration assumed responsibility during one of the most challenging periods in the global economy. Despite significant constraints, it continued implementing the King's major strategic projects, safeguarded macroeconomic stability, enhanced Morocco's attractiveness as a destination for international investment, and pursued structural reforms and sustainable development policies.

An objective reading of the Royal Speech, free from narrow political calculations, reveals a central message: nations are built through continuity and the accumulation of achievements—not through disruption or political adventurism.

Major national accomplishments should never become hostage to electoral cycles or shifting political moods. Instead, they must form part of a sustainable national project supported by institutional continuity, public commitment, and long-term strategic vision.

As Morocco approaches the September 23, 2026 general elections**, citizens will shoulder a historic responsibility. They will not only elect their representatives but also determine which path they believe is best suited to continue advancing the King's ambitious national project. While the ballot box remains the cornerstone of democracy, evaluating concrete achievements remains the true foundation of good governance.

A government that has demonstrated its ability to translate the Royal Vision and His Majesty's High Directives into reforms and development projects has built significant political credibility. Should voters renew their confidence in it, such a decision would reflect a collective commitment to preserving the momentum of Morocco's major reforms under the constitutional institutions of the Kingdom.

Today, Morocco has entered a new chapter in its history: that of a rising State, an influential diplomatic actor, a diversified economy, large-scale strategic projects, and a steadily expanding social state. This stage requires stability, competence, and continuity because great nations do not start from scratch after every election; they build their future upon the achievements they have accumulated over time.

The message conveyed by the Royal Speech is unequivocal: Morocco is greater than partisan calculations and political rivalry. Its future will be shaped by serious work, unwavering commitment to the Royal Vision, and the preservation of the nation's achievements.

Whoever earns the trust of citizens through tangible results while remaining worthy of His Majesty the King's confidence by faithfully implementing the Royal Directives in accordance with the Constitution will be best positioned to lead Morocco into a new era defined by continuity, stability, and sustained national progress.
