Tanger Med: Port Activity Grows by 6% in the First Half of 2026
Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) continues its growth momentum. In the first half of 2026, the operator reported a simultaneous increase in the volume of goods handled and its revenue, while reducing its debt levels. This trajectory also accompanies the expansion of the logistics ecosystem around the port complex.
The Tanger Med complex continues to strengthen its weight in the regional logistics chain. By the end of June 2026, Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) had handled 84 million tons of goods, marking a 6% year-on-year increase.
The performance was also confirmed in the second quarter, with 45 million tons handled during the period. This increase in volume translated into a significant improvement in the operator's revenue.
Revenue Up by 8.6%
At the end of the first six months of the year, TMPA achieved a revenue of 2.47 billion dirhams, an increase of 8.6% compared to the end of June 2025.
The second quarter saw a more pronounced acceleration. Revenues reached 1.29 billion dirhams, compared to 1.16 billion a year earlier, representing an increase of 11.2%.
This development reflects the robust performance of port and logistics activities during the first half.
194 Million Dirhams Invested
The growth in activity is accompanied by a continuous effort on infrastructure.
TMPA allocated 194 million dirhams in investments during the first half. The expenditures particularly focused on port infrastructure, roadways, and various networks as well as IT infrastructure.
These investments are intended to support the evolution of the complex's capacities and the increasing integration of logistics activities around Tanger Med.
Debt Decreases Despite Investment Efforts
Another indicator to note in the first half accounts is the reduction in financing debts.
These stood at 9.1 billion dirhams at the end of June 2026, down 2.4% compared to the end of December 2025.
Thus, TMPA combines three favorable movements: an increase in handled volumes, a rise in revenue, and a reduction in its financial debt.
MedHub Continues to Attract New Operators
The momentum is not limited to port infrastructure. The logistics zone MedHub is also continuing its development with the arrival of new companies.
During the period, several players joined this ecosystem, including Transports Marocains, Ipsen Logistics, Aramex, and La Voie Express Group.
These establishments reinforce Tanger Med's role as an integrated platform, linking port activities to logistics services and supply chains.
At the end of the first half of 2026, TMPA thus shows a solid trajectory, driven by the growth of flows and revenues, as well as ongoing investments and more controlled debt management.
