Tamwilcom launches strategic reform to strengthen support for TPME financing
The Moroccan financial guarantee institution Tamwilcom has launched a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening its financial stability and improving its capacity to support very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises (TPME).
The project focuses on enhancing asset-liability management to better control financial risks such as liquidity pressure, interest rate fluctuations, and foreign exchange exposure. This approach is designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of Tamwilcom’s financing model, which plays a central role in supporting Morocco’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In recent years, Tamwilcom has significantly expanded its activity, mobilizing tens of billions of dirhams in financing and benefiting tens of thousands of businesses, with TPMEs representing the majority of supported enterprises. This highlights the institution’s key role in facilitating access to credit for smaller companies, which are often more vulnerable to economic uncertainty.
The new strategic framework includes advanced financial modeling tools, cash flow projections, and regulatory indicators such as liquidity ratios and risk sensitivity metrics. It also introduces stress-testing mechanisms to evaluate potential financial shocks and their impact on performance and stability.
This initiative aligns with the regulatory requirements of the Moroccan central bank, Bank Al-Maghrib, which encourages financial institutions to adopt proactive risk management systems.
Through this modernization effort, Tamwilcom aims to reinforce its position as a key driver of investment and economic development while ensuring continuous support for TPMEs, which remain a cornerstone of Morocco’s economic growth.
