Talbi El Alami highlights the strategic partnership between Morocco and France
Parliamentary dialogue between Morocco and France continues to strengthen. On the occasion of the 15th Morocco-France High Level Meeting, the president of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, received a French parliamentary delegation in Rabat to discuss cooperation prospects between the two countries, regional issues, and the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in developing the bilateral partnership.
A meeting focused on partnership
The French delegation included Naïma Moutchou, Minister of Overseas, Karim Ben Cheïkh, a deputy in the National Assembly, and Christian Cambon, a French senator. This visit is part of the work of the 15th Morocco-France High Level Meeting, marking a new step in deepening relations between Rabat and Paris.
The exchanges highlighted the quality of the historical relations between the two countries, founded on permanent dialogue, diversified cooperation, and mutual respect.
The Sahara at the heart of discussions
During this meeting, Rachid Talbi El Alami expressed his appreciation for France's consistent position regarding the Moroccan Sahara. He emphasized that Paris remains a strategic partner of the Kingdom, contributing to strengthening a climate of trust conducive to the development of new joint initiatives.
The president of the House of Representatives also recalled that Morocco's foreign policy, driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is based on the principles of respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity, non-interference in internal affairs, and peaceful resolution of disputes.
Parliamentary diplomacy as a lever for cooperation
The discussions also focused on the evolution of parliamentary relations between the two countries. Both delegations highlighted the importance of the Morocco-France Parliamentary Forum, which has become an essential framework for consultation and exchange between Moroccan and French legislative institutions over the years.
Participants noted that parliamentary diplomacy now serves as a complementary tool to governmental action, promoting alignment on major issues of common interest.
Exchanges on major international challenges
Beyond bilateral relations, Moroccan and French officials addressed several regional and international issues of common interest to both Parliaments.
This meeting also highlighted the significant development projects undertaken by the Kingdom, while reaffirming both countries' commitment to continue their cooperation in the political, economic, institutional, and parliamentary domains.
In a context marked by the intensification of the exceptional partnership between Rabat and Paris, these exchanges illustrate the shared desire to strengthen dialogue mechanisms and support the new strategic ambitions held by both states.
