The eighth Public-Private Committee (CPP) of the Go Siyaha investment program has approved 11 new projects aimed at supporting classified tourist accommodation establishments (EHTC) in their ecological transition. These initiatives align with Morocco's 2023-2026 tourism roadmap and a broader commitment to sustainable tourism.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, the approved projects represent a total investment of 23 million dirhams (MAD), with 7 million MAD funded directly by the Go Siyaha program. This funding will enable EHTCs to reduce their carbon footprint and optimize energy consumption by adopting sustainable equipment, such as photovoltaic panels.

The projects encompass a diverse range of establishments, from a first-category guesthouse investing 130,000 MAD in solar energy to a first-category hotel club allocating nearly 10 million MAD to bolster its sustainability measures. These initiatives span multiple regions across Morocco, including Dakhla, Berkane, Casablanca, Azilal, Tangier, Khénifra, Sefrou, M'diq, Errachidia, and Marrakech, reflecting a nationwide push for greener practices.

Since its launch, the Go Siyaha–Green Growth program has approved 24 projects for the acquisition of sustainable equipment, totaling an investment of 58 million MAD, of which 20 million MAD has been subsidized. Additionally, over 100 technical assistance actions have been implemented, with a combined budget of 12 million MAD, 90% of which was covered by the program.

The Go Siyaha "Green Growth" initiative is structured around two complementary components designed to accelerate the ecological transition of Morocco's tourism sector: the investment component and the technical assistance component.

Investment component

This aspect focuses on financing up to 40% of the cost of equipment dedicated to energy efficiency. It supports the acquisition of sustainable technologies to reduce energy consumption, optimize water use, improve waste management, and encourage investments in renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic panels, thermal insulation, and energy-efficient lighting.

Technical assistance component

This segment provides funding for up to 90% of the costs related to energy audits, feasibility studies, and guidance for EHTCs seeking national and international sustainability certifications.

The Go Siyaha program continues to drive Morocco's transition to a more sustainable tourism model, fostering both environmental responsibility and economic growth across the sector.
