Sudan: 30 dead in drone strike on displaced persons center in El-Fasher
At least 30 people were killed on Saturday in a drone strike targeting a displaced persons center in El-Fasher, a city under siege in the Darfur region of western Sudan, according to a local organization.
The Coordination of Resistance Committees, a civilian group documenting abuses in the ongoing conflict, accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out the attack on the Dar al-Arqam center, located within a university campus.
Several bodies reportedly remained trapped in underground shelters, the group added, denouncing what it called a “massacre.”
The city of El-Fasher has become a focal point of intense fighting between the Sudanese army and the RSF paramilitaries, whose struggle for control has plunged the country into one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises since 2023.
