The material began with a full audio track that surfaced on Saturday, followed by video versions of varying quality shared across Reddit, YouTube, and other platforms. The rapid spread led to a wave of removal requests under copyright rules, which many users interpreted as indirect confirmation that the leaked trailer was authentic.
Reports from industry sources suggest the official release of the second trailer is scheduled for June 17. The leaked footage is said to reveal new characters and story elements tied to Peter Parker’s next chapter, with the film positioned as a continuation set several years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In parallel with the leak discussion, Tom Holland addressed production scheduling decisions in a recent interview. He described a direct conversation with Sony Pictures leadership after requesting a delay in the Brand New Day shooting schedule to accommodate work on The Odyssey directed by Christopher Nolan. Both projects had initially been set to begin production at the same time, creating a conflict in his availability.
Holland stated that the discussion led to a revised schedule, influenced in part by confidence in Nolan’s efficient production timelines. He also confirmed that filming on The Odyssey concluded ahead of schedule, easing the overlap between the two major releases planned for the summer.
The current release calendar places The Odyssey in mid-July and Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the end of July. The first official trailer for the Spider-Man film was released earlier in the year, showing Peter Parker isolated in a New York that no longer remembers him and facing a new phase of physical and personal transformation.
