Solana rebounds after record losing streak amid stablecoin issuance
Solana advanced roughly 5 percent after a sharp decline that had pushed the token to a local low near 60.41 dollars. The recovery placed the asset in the 66 to 67 dollar range on June 9, following what traders described as a technical rebound from deeply oversold conditions rather than a confirmed reversal of trend.
The move coincided with the issuance of 500 million dollars in USDC on the Solana network. Market participants treated the mint as a signal of renewed liquidity flowing into the ecosystem, with potential implications for decentralized finance activity. The price reaction reflected short-term positioning adjustments rather than a shift in broader market structure.
Despite the rebound, Solana remains in one of its longest losing sequences since its launch. The token recorded eight consecutive monthly declines through May, falling from levels above 250 dollars in late 2024 to around 65 dollars. It has lost roughly 74 percent from its peak of 293.31 dollars reached in January 2025, with technical charts showing a key support zone near 60 dollars and downside risk toward the 50 to 53 dollar range if that level fails.
Institutional and structural pressures continue to weigh on sentiment. Large-scale liquidation activity, including a reported exit from Solana ETF exposure worth over 100 million dollars earlier in 2026, added to selling pressure. Additional token distribution linked to major ecosystem actors has also contributed to supply overhang concerns. At the same time, the broader cryptocurrency market remains under stress, with heavy outflows from Bitcoin-linked exchange-traded products and elevated risk aversion across digital assets.
