SMIT Launches Incubation Program for Innovative Tourism Projects in Morocco
The Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) has announced the launch of tenders for the selection of providers who will be responsible for accompanying the implementation of the incubation program for the development of tourism entertainment projects. These projects cover areas such as leisure gaming, digitization of hotel services, and Moroccan gastronomy.
The aim is to develop offerings in these fields to turn them into a tourist experience and a reason for travel for both national and international visitors. The concept involves supporting entrepreneurs by providing them with a grant from SMIT, which can reach up to 400,000 dirhams. The program foresees the incubation of 200 projects in the field of gastronomy, 100 for gaming, and 60 for digital.
The selected provider will have the mission of identifying entrepreneurs with potential, selecting them, accompanying them in their incubation, and formalizing financing. They will also assist investors in launching their projects.
Once these projects are completed, tourists will be able, for example, to enjoy unique culinary experiences with virtual reality, discover immersive restaurants, participate in escape games or interactive role-playing games in the medina buildings, or use automatic registration kiosks in hotels.
