As part of the preparations for the 2030 World Cup, the host countries are exploring ways to simplify fan travel between Morocco, Spain, and Portugal. One key proposal being considered is the creation of a "Fan Card," which would allow accredited supporters to move freely between the three host nations without the usual visa requirements.

Currently, Morocco, Spain, and Portugal are assessing measures to ensure fans can easily travel between the countries during the tournament. This initiative aims to streamline administrative processes, with a particular focus on Moroccan citizens traveling to Spain and Portugal. A joint committee has been formed to evaluate practical and efficient options.

This effort aligns with FIFA's recommendations, which urge host countries to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience for international fans. While Spanish and Portuguese nationals can travel to Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days, Moroccan citizens must obtain a Schengen visa to enter Spain and Portugal. This discrepancy in entry requirements could disrupt the flow of Moroccan supporters during the competition.

To address this, the "Fan Card" would allow accredited supporters to travel freely without the need for traditional visas. Similar digital cards were used at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, facilitating both travel and access to sporting and tourist venues.

In addition to simplifying travel, the card would grant privileged access to events, enriching the fan experience. It would also serve as a tool for local authorities to manage traveler flow and enhance security during the tournament.

Discussions regarding the implementation of the Fan Card are ongoing. The governments of the three host countries and European authorities still need to approve the plan. Although the idea is gaining enthusiasm, diplomatic and administrative adjustments are still required. Once finalized, an official announcement is expected in the coming months as preparations intensify for the 2030 World Cup.
