Saudi Arabia strengthens ties with the US, paving the way for global investors

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar, has described the relationship between Riyadh and Washington as the strongest it has ever been, urging global investors to view the Kingdom as a gateway to the Middle East. Speaking at the America Business Forum in Miami, she emphasized the transformation of Saudi-US ties, which have evolved from a focus on energy and defense to partnerships in technology, innovation, and business.

“The Saudi-US relationship today is the strongest it’s ever been,” Princess Reema stated. “While for many years it was built on energy and defense, today it’s built on technology, innovation, and relationships.”

She highlighted Saudi Arabia’s growing diplomatic influence, noting the Kingdom’s active role in global stability efforts, including its advocacy for peace in Sudan, Syria, and Gaza, as well as its pursuit of a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She credited the United States as an indispensable partner in these efforts, expressing pride in their collaboration.

Princess Reema also reflected on Saudi Arabia’s aspirations to integrate with the US economic ecosystem. “We want to be that friend and that resource to the United States ecosystem to help it thrive and develop,” she said. “Because you can’t do it on your own, and we want to make sure that you win.”

The ambassador underscored Saudi Arabia’s appeal as an investment destination, offering affordable land, accessible energy, and skilled manpower. She further praised Miami as a growing global business hub and a gateway to Latin America, acknowledging its cultural and economic parallels with the Middle East.

“I would also say the gateway to Latin America has made this [Miami] one of the most compelling, engaging points for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Princess Reema remarked, adding that Saudi Arabia is now exploring opportunities in South America, a region previously overlooked by Riyadh.

Concluding her remarks, the ambassador expressed admiration for the United States’ diversity, resources, and human capital, describing the country as “a gift.” She encouraged Americans to recognize their unique advantages and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering a thriving partnership with the US.
