Samsung introduces Galaxy A56, A36, and A26: Affordable smartphones with AI innovation
Samsung has unveiled its latest Galaxy A series models, the A56, A36, and A26, marking a significant milestone in making artificial intelligence (AI) accessible to more users. A decade after the launch of its first Galaxy A device, the South Korean tech giant has integrated advanced AI features into its mid-range smartphones, previously reserved for premium models.
Smarter features for everyday use
The new Galaxy A models bring Samsung’s innovative Galaxy AI technology to the mainstream. Features like "Circle to Search" allow users to search by simply circling an element on the screen, while the "Now Bar" provides real-time contextual information. Other tools include "AI Select" for intelligent text and image selection, "Object Eraser" to remove unwanted elements from photos, and "Best Face," which enhances group photos by optimizing facial expressions. The Galaxy A56 also includes an AI-assisted video editing tool, catering to users looking for creative functionality in their devices.
Upgraded performance and display
All three models feature upgraded processors for smoother performance. The Galaxy A56 is equipped with an Exynos 1580 chip and 8 GB of RAM, while the Galaxy A36 runs on a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with options for 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A26, powered by an Exynos 1380, also offers similar RAM configurations. Each device boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, ensuring vibrant visuals and seamless scrolling.
Photography tailored to user needs
Samsung has focused on enhancing camera capabilities across the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26. All three models sport a 50 MP main sensor, with variations in pixel size to improve low-light photography. The ultra-wide lens differs slightly, offering 12 MP on the A56 and 8 MP on the A36 and A26. Macro photography is supported by a 5 MP sensor on the A56 and A36, while the A26 includes a 2 MP macro lens. On the front, the A56 and A36 feature a 12 MP selfie camera, whereas the A26 steps up to a 13 MP sensor.
Extended battery life and durability
The trio comes with a robust 5,000 mAh battery, capable of lasting up to two and a half days depending on usage. The A56 and A36 support 45 W fast charging, while the A26 offers 25 W charging. Samsung has also committed to six years of software and security updates, ensuring long-term device reliability. Additionally, all models are IP67-certified, making them resistant to water and dust.
Democratizing AI for the masses
With the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, Samsung aims to popularize its AI innovations while maintaining competitive pricing. This strategic move is expected to accelerate the adoption of Galaxy AI tools, paving the way for potential monetization in 2026.
